Tupac Lives!

This is the mindblowing moment that saw the resurrection of Tupac Shakur. Thanks to 3D holographic technology he played live onstage with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at the Coachella Festival. It took 3 months to create, but for a crowd who thought they would never get to see the murdered MC on stage again, it was worth every second.
Full story here. Biggie next please!
Thanks to Kirsty Dawkins for the linkage

Lyrical Spread!

Lyrical Spread (feat. The Chameleon) from Ian Robertson on Vimeo.

A superb lesson in patience from Animator Ian Robertson.
2295 photos, 438 printed labels, 4 days, 2 crumpets, and 1 tub of Lyrical Spread. Using the track The Batter, The Rapper, and The Mad Hatter by The Chameleon, half way through he must have wished he’s chosen “Jack Your Body” and not a song with a million and a half words!

R.I.P. Rammellzee!

Hip Hop Legend, guru, artist and extraterrestrial space cadet, Rammellzee, has sadly passed away. Most famous for the stone cold classic “Beat Bop”, produced by Jean-Michel Basquait, which sounded like it was funk from Mars (and still does). He was also an artist, fashion designer and your basic creative genius. He was a one off. Now the Rammellzee species is extinct. Sad.
