Pictures on Walls- Dran!

Magic art shop Pictures on Walls, London marked the opening of a special pop up shop “Marks & Stencils” on Berwick Street with an exhibition of work by French artist Dran. His witty style is made all the more endearing by its subject- I also love a bit of cardboard!

Rime & Jackson Pollock For Dolby Digital!

Great piece of work from Graff artist, Rime. Sponsored by Dolby he has created a piece that was inspired by the Jackson Pollock film below. On his website he mentions that he is not happy with the final piece and that the presence of a film crew made him be less experimental as he would have liked. It would have been great to see what he had in his head, but the final piece is still amazing.

Day Dreaming With James Lavelle!

UNKLE have always had impressive artwork, creating standout covers for their standout albums in a music landscape more intrested in bandwidth than Bauhaus. James Levelle continues their association with artists and designers by curating an exhibition of work at Haunch of Venison, 6 Burlington Gardens, London W1S from 27 – 30 August. Featuring light work by Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton (pictured) and also commisions by Graff legend Futura, it should be one to see.

R.I.P. Rammellzee!

Hip Hop Legend, guru, artist and extraterrestrial space cadet, Rammellzee, has sadly passed away. Most famous for the stone cold classic “Beat Bop”, produced by Jean-Michel Basquait, which sounded like it was funk from Mars (and still does). He was also an artist, fashion designer and your basic creative genius. He was a one off. Now the Rammellzee species is extinct. Sad.
