Ghibli Museum!

If you are ever in Tokyo make sure you visit the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka– I can’t stress enough how amazing this place is! Celebrating the master animator Hayao Miyazaki, it is unlike any other theme park or museum you have ever been into before. For one, there are no out of work actors dressed up in Totoro outfits or any merry go rounds of Howl’s Moving Castle. It is 100% about the art and craft that is animation. It’s amazing. You have zoetrobes, flicker books, storyboards, cell colouring- you have a recreation of his studio, you see how he works and you see the amount of work that goes into one of his features. All this and it’s is still one of the most fun and magical experiences I have ever had. It makes you feel like a child again and that is worth 1000 yen of anyones money! Go there!
